Call for Presenters for the 2013 FLC Conference!

Twenty-nine years later, the Florida Literacy Conference is still going strong. However, we could not do it without people like you. We are looking for presenters that have a passion to share their wisdom, insight, research, techniques and practices within the world of family and adult literacy to speak at the 2013 Conference in Captiva.  Below you will find the perks, important dates and information on the application process. j

 

Perks of presenting:

• $25 off the regular registration rate
• Networking with your peers and people who share your experiences
• Priority registration

The Nitty-Gritty: Session last 1 hour and 15 minutes. You may present longer but we will have to schedule you for more than one concurrent session between May 8-10. We could also schedule you for a pre-conference workshop on May 7^th. If your proposed session is longer than 1 hour and 15 minutes, please note this on the form. Concurrent sessions will be set up in classroom and theater style. If you would like a different session set up style, it needs to be requested. Please let us know who will be responsible for passing out and collecting evaluations, and making sure attendees complete the sign in sheet. We also will need to know who will keep you on time in your presentation. This may be you or a colleague that will attend with you. We will select proposed sessions based on the information that you want to cover and the content of the presentation. Do not worry if you are a repeat presenter, but keep in mind we want new and exciting information presented each year. Try to propose a refreshed, updated version of your presentation that is relevant to the times.

Need-to-know dates:

• Presentation proposal due ONLINE: Monday, December 17^th, 2012
• Confirmation that your proposal was received: within 3 days of submitting
• Final notification on the status of your proposed workshop: January 31, 2013

How to submit your application:Just fill out the online form! It’s that easy. Once you are done filling out the form, you can select the option that allows you to receive an email copy for your records. Keep in mind that the information provided on this form is the same information that will be used in the final conference program.

Presenters Needed!

Let your voice be heard at the Hilton St. Petersburg Bayfront May 9-11^th!

Next year marks the 28th anniversary of the Florida Literacy Conference. This is a great opportunity to share your wisdom, techniques, research and promising practices in adult and family literacy with others from across the state.

As a presenter, you will receive the benefits of priority registration and networking with your peers. You can also enjoy a savings of $25.00 off the regular registration rate.

We know you have great ideas, and we want everyone to hear them. Let us know if you have any session ideas that could help the conference be even better this year.

Proposed sessions will be selected based on the information you provide.  Since we try to offer new sessions each year, please note that if you have previously presented your proposed session it should still be relevant, timely, and updated with fresh material.

To submit a proposal, complete the online form. Proposals must be received online by Monday, December 12, 2011. Information as it appears on this form will be used in the final conference program.

FLC Issues Call For Presenters

It’s that time again!!

The Florida Literacy Coalition is now accepting conference session proposals for the 27th Annual Florida Literacy Conference: Open Books Open Minds, which will be held May 4-6, 2011, at the Orlando Marriott Lake Mary (in Lake Mary, Fla.).

This is the perfect opportunity to share your wisdom, techniques, research and promising practices in adult and family literacy with other professionals from across the state and beyond (we have teachers come from as far as Canada – cool, eh!?).

The deadline to submit your proposed session is Thursday, Dec. 16.  Proposed sessions will be selected based on the information you provide.  Since we try to offer new sessions each year, please note that if you have previously presented your proposed session, it should still be relevant, timely and updated with fresh material.

Submitting a proposal is easy!  Simply click here and fill out the online form.  Once you have submitted your proposal, you will be given the option to receive an email copy for your records.  *Remember: the information you provide (as it appears on the form) will be used in the final conference program.

FLC will confirm receipt of your proposal submission within 3 business days, and will provide final notification on the status of your proposed workshop by Friday, January 28, 2011.
